Common River is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.  All donations are tax deductible. A tax-exempt letter will be sent to you upon receipt of your generous donation.


  1. Water: Pumps, water tanks, irrigation, rain catchment ($5000)
  2. Electricity:  Transformer ($10,000)
  3. New Classroom:  ($7,500)
  4. Shipping of Supplies and Materials:  We have collected school uniforms, textbooks, computer and shoes from local schools in Marin and have enough to fill a 40 foot container.  Estimated cost to ship a container:  ($10,000)
  5. Bamboo Crafts Center: build a small workshop and teach our children and teens
    in the art of bamboo ($3000)

Fund the Development Program

We have recurring costs of running the program which includes salaries for our 18 staff employees in Ethiopia.  We also have the costs of running a school, which includes teacher supplies, student supplies, uniforms, shoes, and administration.

1. Education Program: Kindergarten and Primary school, Female Literacy program

2. Health Program: establishing health hut, Nutrition program:  agricultural school lunch garden, animal husbandry, beehives

3. Livelihoods Program: Micro-finance for women, coffee farmers

4. Seniors Program: A Center for Elders, cultural shows and meetings
